Brendan has spent nearly 30 years applying his passion for music to the written word, including working with some of the industry's leading publications.
He began his career on Long Island, covering music, arts and entertainment for publications like Good Times, the Island Ear and the Long Island Press, where he formerly served as Managing Editor. During that time Brendan was on ground zero of the burgeoning Long Island punk/hardcore scene, which vaulted him onward in his career.
Brendan spent the next decade as Contributing Editor for Alternative Press magazine, where he authored countless articles, including numerous cover stories and in-depth artist features. He toured nationally with bands, gaining personal insights into the artists that most writers never see or document. He wrote extensive oral histories of bands like New Found Glory, the Bouncing Souls, the Movielife and MxPx, conducting hundreds of hours of interviews.
These days, Brendan is a self-made man. Among his myriad projects, he is the driving force behind 518scene.com, which he founded in order to promote the music and arts scene in his home region of upstate NY. He is also an accomplished freelance writer, marketer, screenwriter and musician.
