Albany All Stars Roller Derby Home Season Closer

The Albany All Stars will be hosting our season closer home bout against the Beasts of the
East on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Washington Avenue Armory (195 Washington Ave,
Albany, NY 12210).
The Hudson Valley’s own K8 the DJ will be spinning some tunes; there will be concessions and
local vendors to check out, along with games and a raffle. A portion of the proceeds from the
bout will go towards the evening’s featured charity (prior featured charities have included
Food Not Bombs, Planned Parenthood, and more).
Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the first whistle is at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door
for $15. Tickets can also be purchased in advance via Ticketmaster.
The afterparty will be held at McGeary’s Pub (4 Clinton Square, Albany, NY 12207). Come out
to see your favorite players!
Roller derby is an exciting, fast-paced contact sport that is quickly growing in popularity around
the world. The Albany All Stars are an affiliated league of the Women’s Flat Track Derby
Association (WFTDA). The league is 100% owned and operated by local skaters.

About Albany All Stars Roller Derby – Established in 2006 as the Capital Region’s first flat
track all-women’s roller derby league, the Albany All Stars began with six members and two
teams. After eighteen years, the league has grown to nearly fifty members, including our
dedicated referees, non-skating officials, and volunteers. The league bouts at the Washington
Avenue Armory in Albany, New York.
The league comprises a diverse group of players who are committed to a spirit of community
within the league, as well as serving the greater community of the Capital Region. In addition to
participating in numerous local events and fundraisers, a portion of the proceeds from each bout
is donated to charity. Determined, strong, and agile, the Albany All Stars play to win, but also
never lose sight of having fun. As skillful as they are relentless, these players bring a unique
brand of excitement and energy to each bout that will keep you coming back for more.
