ICFS presents the 50th Anniversary Celebration of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars.

In July 1973, David Bowie announced from the stage that the concert that night would be “the last show we’ll ever do.” He meant that he was retiring his beloved Ziggy Stardust persona and would no longer tour as The Spiders from Mars, but fans screamed and cried, thinking Bowie was done with performing live altogether. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, and just as thankfully, famed documentary director D.A. Pennebaker was there to capture this final performance on film.

Bowie gave it his all that night. He was never more committed to the Ziggy character than during this incredibly intimate concert. And Pennebaker’s lens rarely strays from studying the electrifying David Bowie.
