Dom Flemons

Known as The American Songster, Dom Flemons is a walking encyclopedia of American roots music. Dom Flemons is a GRAMMY Award winning performer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, historian and music scholar covering over a century of folklore and styles, including ragtime, blues, country western, bluegrass, and string band music. Through spirited performances on the banjo, guitar, harmonica, jug, percussion, quills, fife and rhythm bones, his work illuminates the history and influence of African American musicians. Dom’s career began with the Carolina Chocolate Drops in 2005 and has since brought him all over the world as a folk performer, speaker, radio host, U.S. Artist Fellow and ambassador of American roots music.
