Emma’s Revolution (w/ Lisa Gutkin)
March 28 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
$28
Award-winning singer-songwriter-guitarists EMMA’S REVOLUTION [Pat Humphries, Sandy O] have long harnessed the power of music to shine a light on cultural issues and promoted the power of people together working toward peace, environmental justice and human rights. Their reach is wide; their powerful songs have been sung for the Dalai Lama, praised and sung by folk icons Pete Seeger, Ronnie Gilbert and Holly Near, among scores of others.
With soaring harmonies and genre-defying eclecticism, their music provides an uprising of truth and hope for these unsettled times.
Their harmonies and lush acoustic instruments soar on songs spanning folk to jazz and funk to rock.
Very special guest LISA GUTKIN, Grammy winning fiddler, singer and member of America’s celebrated Klezmer band The Klezmatics, will join Emma’s Revolution onstage.
Praised by the L.A. Times for “hauntingly emotional” vocals, she has co-authored songs with Anne Sexton, Maggie Dubris, and for Woody Guthrie’s “Gonna Get Through This World,” described by Pete Seeger as “a piece of genius.”
Emma’s Revolution and Lisa Gutkin: three layers of harmony vocals, guitars and fiddle for an evening of honesty, inspiration, heart, and great music.
