Evan Christopher & Clarinet Road – Horns for Haiti Benefit Dinner & Concert

$53.25Evan Christopher has a worldwide reputation as a champion of the New Orleans clarinet tradition. With virtuosity, immaculate taste and enthusiasm Evan Christopher ‘s work extends the legacies of early Creole clarinet heroes such as Sidney Bechet, Barney Bigard and Omer Simeon. Critics remarking on his dynamic expressiveness have coined his style “close-encounter music” (New York Times) and have called his respect for the music of New Orleans, “a triumph, joining the present seamlessly to a glorious past.” (The Observer, UK). A California native, Mr. Christopher was a member of the New Orleans music community for 25 years before relocating to New York City.
Horns for Haiti provides support, mentorship, donated music instruments, music instrument supplies and swab making materials to schools and small businesses in Haiti. Food generously provided by Hattie’s and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Dinner and Concert: Doors open at 5:00, dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Concert Only: Doors open at 6:30, performance begins at 7:00 p.m.
