Founded in Dublin in 2011, Gilla Band are vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner. A couple of the band members met in school, Dara played drums in the first band, before taking up vocals after the lead singer left. Initially the band put singles out via Any Other City, a local Dublin label before signing to Rough Trade. Known for their visceral and intense live performances, the band quickly gained a live following and played venues and festivals along the way such as Whelan’s, Vicar St, All Together Now, Other Voices and more. The band have been playing the UK and international venues and festivals on and off for the last 8 years or so.
