Amid all of the truly amazing bands to emerge during the emo explosion of the early millennium, Motion City Soundtrack was always firmly entrenched in the upper echelon, penning a handful of records that are widely considered classics for the genre. Of all those killer LPs, Commit This To Memory is arguably the band’s finest release, capturing both the band’s early pop-punk vibe and the ultra-catchy melodic pop that followed. Motion City Soundtrack will be celebrating the 17th anniversary of the album this year, with a stop at Empire Live in Albany that’s sure to be a can’t miss event. Comedian Neil Rubenstein (a veteran of the Long Island hardcore scene) opens the night.
