Schenectady Symphony Orchestra honors the “dark legend” of the “bad boy” of classical music, the incredible violin virtuoso Niccolò Paganini, performing Rhapsody of a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43. (Anyone who knows the work of shred guitar legends like Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Jason Becker and Paul Gilbert, have surely heard the name Paganini before.)

The performance will also feature the world premiere of Glen Cortese’s newest composition, celebrating the 43-year journey of the Voyager spacecraft, and Stravinsky’s The Firebird.

When: Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM, prior to the Schenectady Symphony concert at 3:00 PM

Kids, come and learn about the Voyager Space Mission and meet former NASA Astronaut, Nicole Stott. Nicole will talk about her two space missions, show a short NASA video and answer your questions. We’ll also be joined by miSci (Museum of Innovation and Science) Planetarium Manager and Astronomer, Steven Spiewak, who will talk about the Voyager Space Mission. There will also be a hands-on opportunity for kids to make their own “Pocket Solar System” before attending the Schenectady Symphony concert and the world premiere of “Voyager: A Journey to the Stars”. Student tickets for those under 18 are free with a paid adult and are available at Proctors Box Office.
