Capital Repertory Theatre will be transformed into the intimate kitchen of a New York City restaurant with the upcoming run of Seared by Theresa Rebeck. “Seared” dives into the high-stakes world of gourmet cuisine. At the heart of the story is brilliant yet hot-headed chef Harry, whose signature dish has just earned a coveted mention in a prestigious food magazine. This accolade puts his business partner Mike on the brink of achieving their long-sought financial success. However, the path to profit is anything but smooth.

Harry’s steadfast refusal to recreate his culinary masterpiece for a wider audience sets off a cascade of challenges. The dynamic is further complicated by the arrival of a shrewd restaurant consultant and a waiter harboring dreams of his own. As tensions rise and ambitions clash, the play masterfully navigates the thin line between artistic integrity and commercial pressure.
