Special EFX is a Grammy-nominated global jazz fusion group led by guitarist, composer, producer and arranger Chieli Minucci.

Special EFX has been a major force on the jazz and world music scene for four decades. This is a thrilling band with no weak links! They’re touring in support of their 40th anniversary Special EFX album Twenty Twenty 2.

In addition to his own releases, Chieli records and performs with Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Jewel, Mark Anthony, Eartha Kitt, Eddie Fisher, Anastasia, as well as jazz artists Kirk Whalum, Jeff Lorber, Norman Brown, Bernie Williams, Marion Meadows, Lao Tizer, Mindi Abair, Rick Braun, Gerald Veasley, Omar Hakim, and many others. He has won 3 Emmy Awards for film scores.

Cieli’s all-star band features keyboardist Jay Rowe, who has been with EFX for 25 years, Joel Rosenblatt on drums (Spyro Gyra, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Chick Corea, and many more), and bassist David Livolsi (John Scofield, Bill Evans, Roberta Flack, Maysa, Sam Rivers and many more).
