SUMMARY:SOM (w/ Carnwennan\, Jupiter Queen\, Arrow Through Me)
DESCRIPTION:SOM headline Empire Underground in Albany\, with special guests Carnwennan\, Jupiter Queen\, and Arrow Through Me. \nAfter eight years\, SOM stands at a pivotal moment. Three years after their critically acclaimed sophomore album The Shape of Everything (Pelagic Records) and a year following the release of Faith\, an ambitious EP of Depeche Mode covers (Sonic Ritual Recordings)\, their latest full length Let The Light In captures the band at its most introspective and adventurous. \nLet The Light In is a study in contrasts. It’s simultaneously SOM’s catchiest and heaviest record\, pushing boundaries with dissonance and noise while uncovering surprising moments of tranquility. With a unique sound dubbed “Doom Pop” by Metal Injection\, their shoegaze roots are on display\, but there is heaviness and heft throughout that is both bracing and fully satisfying. If their debut album The Fall explored hitting bottom\, and their second full length was about grappling with the ever-darkening world around us\, Let The Light In looks inward to our darkest impulses\, and seeks reconciliation to discover the vibrance and brilliance within ourselves and in the people that surround us. \nAdversity became catalyst when\, due to unforeseen circumstances\, founding drummer Duncan Rich had to depart the band midway through the writing and recording process. SOM took the remainder of 2023 to reshape and refocus\, eventually re-recording most of the album as bassist Justin Forrest moved to drums\, and singer Will Benoit moved from guitar to bass. This new configuration allowed guitarists Joel Reynolds and Mike Repasch-Nieves to paint in even broader strokes\, creating ever more dense\, lush and ethereal soundscapes\, while Benoit’s vocals explore a quiet intimacy interwoven between soaring falsettos and chopped vocal stabs. The result is a richly melodic album that takes you on a journey through the depth of human emotions\, ultimately guiding you to a place of enlightenment and catharsis. \nSince 2019\, the band has toured extensively across North America\, Europe and the UK with acts like Katatonia\, Solstafir\, Slow Crush\, Holy Fawn\, O’Brother\, Defeater\, Gost\, and Rosetta. These hard-earned experiences across 21 countries\, coupled with the introspective restructuring of 2023\, have profoundly altered their creative approach. Impassioned late night conversations in the bus\, disagreements\, and the euphoria of playing to audiences around the globe added to a wealth of lived experience and musical growth\, resulting in a more nuanced and emotionally charged songwriting process. As they approached this new material\, the members of SOM found themselves in a fresh headspace\, armed with a newfound maturity. \nLet The Light In is SOM’s testament to resilience and evolution. Born from challenges and change\, this album pulses with confidence\, inviting the listener and the band themselves to traverse the darkness and find your light.

SUMMARY:Sister Sadie
DESCRIPTION:There was never a master plan. No label pitch. No brand blueprint. Just a spontaneous jam at Nashville’s Station Inn between a few friends—seasoned players\, all women\, making a little noise on a weeknight. The room lit up\, the crowd roared\, and by the end of the night Sister Sadie was born. \nWhat started as an accidental band became a force: GRAMMY-nominated\, IBMA-decorated\, and Opry-validated. For all the accolades\, Sister Sadie has never been about labels—they’ve always been about the music. The fire. The truth. \nWith the release of All Will Be Well\, they’ve burned the old rulebook. The album blends bluegrass roots with fearless layers of country grit\, Americana muscle\, gospel soul\, and raw emotional storytelling. Songs like Prodigal Daughter (sung by IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Jaelee Roberts)\, the defiant Do What You Want\, and the aching If I Don’t Have You show a band that’s not playing roles—they’re telling you exactly who they are. \nOn stage\, the lineup is formidable: Gena Britt’s road-tested banjo\, Deanie Richardson’s fiery fiddle\, Jaelee Roberts’ powerhouse vocals\, Dani Flowers’ acclaimed songwriting\, Rainy Miatke’s sharp mandolin\, and Katie Blomarz-Kimball’s driving bass. Together\, they are bold\, bonded\, and braver than ever. \nSAMPLE SONG \nSister Sadie is not asking for space—they’re taking it. And they’re just getting started. \nStream this show live at Caffè Lena TV. Enjoy one week of access with your live stream ticket. \nNote: Caffe Lena does not permit ticket reselling above face value. Tickets purchased for the purpose of resale may be canceled without notice\, and refunds for such purchases will not be granted. \n  \nTags\nBluegrass

SUMMARY:Foxy Shazam (w/ Descartes a Kant\, Moondough)
DESCRIPTION:Hello\, my name is Eric Nally and I am the singer and founding member of this rabble-rousing pack of freaks they call Foxy Shazam. Our other five members are (in alphabetical order): Daisy (bass) Aaron McVeigh (drums)\, Alex Nauth (horns) Loren Turner (guitar) and Sky White (piano). I love them but before I get into their story\, I would like to spend a little time on myself: I am twenty-four years old\, the father of two boys\, Julian Michael and Francis Jordan\, as well as a loving husband to Karen Nally. This creates an interesting contrast to my career as a professional musician. \nOFFICIAL SITE :: MYSPACE :: FACEBOOK :: TWITTER \nI grew up in Cincinnati\, Ohio\, and was one of two white boys in an all-black high school. The band name Foxy Shazam came from a saying in my school meaning\, “cool shoes.” If you had cool shoes kids would say those are “foxy shazam.” Because of this we have a lot of soul\, and try to let it bleed through our music as much as possible. Mom and Dad were pretty poor as I was growing up but always supported my musical interests nonetheless. In the early years they bought my band cheap guitars and amps and drove us to shows in the family Thunderbird. I owe them big time and will someday repay them. \nNow that you know a little about my history\, I would like to talk about my bandmates. Alex\, our trumpet player is my right hand man and as a matter of fact he is transcribing this for me right now. Alex is classically trained\, has a likable personality and is easy to get along with. We picked him up on the corner of Hollywood and Las Palmas a couple of years into the band’s existence and I feel like his horn playing has added to the uniqueness of our sound. I meet a lot of people that think horns are stupid\, but he’s going to change that. Loren\, our guitar player is a weird guy to get the hang of and he’s very quiet. Everyone that meets him gets the impression that he’s mad at them but that’s not the case\, it’s just the way his face looks. He loves Dimebag Darrell and I love the influence that gives him in his guitar playing. \nDaisy\, our bass player has been in the band for about three years. To be honest\, I don’t know too much about him and I like him like that. That’s what makes him Daisy. However\, I do know that his contribution to our band is enormous and without him we would not sound the way that we do. Aaron our drummer is the newest member of the band. The position of Foxy’s drummer\, until Aaron\, has been one that is filled temporarily but never permanently. I would never be caught dead in the clothes he wears but\, hey\, to each his own. His drum playing is not fancy but it’s extremely solid and is exactly what we’ve been looking for all these years. Last but not least is Sky White\, our pianist who is trained in classical and jazz performance. I remember Loren and I went to a show his old band was playing and the second I saw him stand on his keyboard with a piñata on his head I knew we had to get him in Foxy Shazam. It didn’t take too much convincing and a week later we were recording our first album Flamingo Trigger (which came out in 2005) and went on to do Introducing (2008). Our latest album\, The Church of Rock & Roll\, is due out in January 2012. \nWhen I listen to a Foxy Shazam record I think of Evel Knievel\, Bruce Springsteen\, my childhood\, Van Morrison\, my old friends from high school I don’t talk to anymore\, Elton John\, the ’50s\, ’60s\, ’70s\, ’80s\, ’90s and beyond\, Iggy Pop and my first kiss. One of my favorite things to do when listening to my music is to close my eyes and picture a crowd of six million people all chanting “Foxy! Foxy! Foxy!” The lights go out and my band walks on stage. It gives me goose bumps. It all makes sense to me. When you listen to our record\, think of your favorite things and it’ll make sense to you as well. Foxy Shazam is not concerned with what category it falls into. We want to stand for our generation. We want to be the biggest band in the world. We are the Michael Jordan of Rock N’ Roll. SUMMARY:The Ike Reilly Assassination
DESCRIPTION:The Ike Reilly Assassination performs live at the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy\, NY\n\n\n\nIke Reilly is a punk-poet-troubadour and the leader of the ferocious musical outfit The Ike Reilly Assassination. The former doorman and gravedigger hailing from the seemingly idyllic town of Libertyville\, Illinois is the subject of the award-winning documentary Don’t Turn Your Back On Friday Night. The film\, from Executive Producer Tom Morello\, chronicles the songs\, career and proverbial life of Reilly. Like the subject matter of his music\, the film deals with booze\, drugs\, religion\, family\, financial calamity and culls over 30 years of footage to reveal a complicated and formidable artist in his pursuit of both greatness and authenticity. The film is both profound and personal. \nSince his 2001 major label debut\, Salesmen and Racists\, Reilly has been creating rebellious punk/folk/country/blues-influenced rock ’n’ roll records that are both poetic and cinematic. He’s written songs for and collaborated with artists like Johnny Hickman and David Lowery of the band Cracker\, Shooter Jennings and Tom Morello. Critical praise for his work has been plentiful. David Carr of the New York Times said\, ”Ike Reilly is a kind of natural resource mined from the bedrock of music\, all the values that make Rock important to people-storytelling\, melody\, rage\, laughter are part and parcel of every Ike Reilly show I’ve ever seen.” The Washington Post called The Ike Reilly Assassination one of the best live bands in America and author Stephen King recently said “Ike Reilly is the Rock God not enough people have heard of.” \nThe Ike Reilly Assassination will be heading out on their AMERICAN STEAL TOUR this February and Don’t Turn Your Back On Friday Night is now streaming on APPLE TV\, AMAZON PRIME\, YOUTUBE and all major streaming platforms.

Celebrating its 20th year\, the show blends the quick wit of Irish-American comedians with the driving rhythms of traditional Irish music\, creating a night that’s equal parts stand-up\, concert\, and storytelling session. \nThe comics tackle everything from family life to modern absurdities\, weaving sharp social observations with the kind of humor you’d overhear in the corner of a crowded pub. Between laughs\, the musicians fire up fiddle\, guitar\, and song—adding both heart and hilarity to the evening. \nTogether\, they shred stereotypes\, share stories\, and deliver the kind of no-holds-barred craic that has kept audiences roaring across North America for two decades. Whether you come for the music\, the comedy\, or the pint-fueled atmosphere\, you’ll leave grinning ear to ear.

SUMMARY:Cognitive (w/ Intrusive\, Balor\, Iced Over\, Breathless By Dawn\, Anomalous)
DESCRIPTION:NJ technical death metal act Cognitive headlines Empire Underground in Albany\, with special guests Intrusive\, Balor\, Iced Over\, Breathless By Dawn\, and Anomalous. \nTechnical death metal troupe Cognitive are back with Abhorrence\, their fifth full length album and a tremendously worthy successor to 2021′s Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction. This is the New Jersey powerhouse quintet at its brutal best – unrelenting riffs leave the listener stunned\, while a wave of thoughtful\, devastating lyrics washes over. The album is a turbulent\, draining but ultimately fulfilling experience. \nCognitive started work on Abhorrence while touring Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction\, sending tracks back and forth to each other while trekking from one intense gig to another. \n“While we were on tour\, we started writing the record\,” says guitarist Rob Wharton. “There were riffs and ideas that didn’t make Malevolent Thoughts. We just kept toiling away with it. And then we recorded the ‘Rot Eternal’ single in between touring. So it’s been just nonstop writing.“ \nDrummer AJ Viana has his own studio (he’s previously worked with bands as prestigious as Hath)\, and he recorded\, tracked and mixed the album\, before Ryan Williams (The Black Dahlia Murder\, John Frum) at Metal Blade mastered it. Viana would send mixes to Williams and they honed them in the mastering process. To the album’s immense benefit\, it was a collaborative process and everyone brought their A game. \n“We’re very fortunate that AJ can track and do everything\,” says Wharton. “It’s good quality\, and it holds up.” \nAbhorrence continues Cognitive‘s trend of releasing a new album every few years and\, while that does lead to tight turnarounds\, the band has clearly evolved both sonically and lyrically this time. \n“It’s the songwriting\, maturity and having more hooks\,” Wharton says. “We were repeating riffs a little bit more on this record. It comes with maturity. But I just think that there was more focus on what we want to do and what doesn’t work in the band musically.” \nLooking back on Cognitive‘s career\, starting with 2012′s The Horrid Swarm EP\, Wharton believes that he’s gotten smarter\, older and wiser. \n“It’s interesting\, because even on this record\, there’s things where I was like\, man\, ‘it’d be cool if we got back to doing this because we haven’t done this kind of stuff in a long time‘\,” he says. “That’s where I felt like certain things early on in the band were interesting\, and then there’s stuff where I’m like\, ‘we should try doing this because we haven’t done this yet.’ We’re always adapting and figuring out what we want to do\, as opposed to what we need to do musically because\, to me\, no matter what\, I play music for myself.” \nThat desire to create something with an authentic artistic vision is what led to the recording of Abhorrence. The album is an exercise in aural turbulence\, each taking the listener on a magnificently traumatic journey. \n“Our lyrics for this record are all over the place\,” Wharton said. “There’s some stuff about video games and addiction and mental health. To me\, that’s the kind of subject matter that hits home because everyone’s got stuff going on in their lives and life ain’t easy. So to me\, when we have those layers\, it’s relatable.” \nThe album title certainly is. Many people will have looked at the state of the world in recent years and felt that “abhorrence” is an entirely appropriate world. \n“We were going through all the song titles and wondering which is the strongest song\,” Wharton says. “We decided to go with Abhorrence because everything’s disgusting anymore. Everyone’s so mean and cruel to each other and the world is terrible. We just felt like it kind of encompassed everything. We had put a lot of time into that one specifically because there are so many repeating parts\, but it was mostly about depression\, anxiety attacks and mental health.” \nMeanwhile\, “Insidious” is a song about drug addiction\, written by vocalist Shane Jost. \n“I feel like everyone in their lives has had to deal with some kind of form of addiction\, whether it’s themselves\, a friend or a family member\,” Wharton says. \nAnother Jost composition\, “Ivory Tower\,” is a socially-conscious number about the greedy folk that hoard money\, while Wharton describes “Savor the Suffering” as a typical gore-death metal song. “Rorschach” has nothing to do with the Watchmen comic book character but rather goes right to the source. \n“He’s a psychologist\, and the inkblot design technique is his\,” Wharton says. “So Shane was talking about mental health stuff. He was fascinated by how certain designs can show you different brain activity and patterns.” \nOn that note\, “Lunar Psychopathy” sounds like it might well be another exploration of mental health issues. In fact it’s about werewolves\, proving that this album runs the gamut with its subject matter. \n“There were no overlapping subjects\,” Wharton says. “Everything was really just like\, ‘This feels like it should be about that. And this is what’s going on in our lives.’ Or\, ‘Hey\, I’m playing this video game or reading this book or playing Magic the Gathering. And it reminds me of this.’ So I would apply that here and just see how it comes out.” \nThe title track is the first single\, with “A Pact Unholy” following. Meanwhile\, Cognitive will be keenly touring the album in 2024. \n“In May\, we’re heading to Europe\,” Wharton says. “And we have a bunch of other tours that aren’t announced yet either that we’re\, you know\, a lot of touring stuff\, we’re just finishing up the details. So it’s gonna be a lot of touring.” \nThis promises to be a big year for Cognitive\, as they take Abhorrence on the road and bring more people into their vile new world. 13 years after the release of their debut EP\, the band’s fifth full-lengther sees them continue to make giant strides forward while retaining the elements of their past efforts that got them this far. \nAbhorrence may provide therapeutic commentary about how messed up the world currently is\, but also\, ironically\, provides a breath of fresh air. We’re all in this together\, so catch Cognitive on the road this year. \nShane Jost: VocalsRob Wharton: GuitarHarry Lannon: GuitarTyler Capone-Vitale: BassAJ Viana: Drums

SUMMARY:Sophistafunk (w/ The Ky McClinton Band)
DESCRIPTION:There’s a new band on television! Mashing up funk\, rap\, and their own distinct brand of positive vibes. You can catch them every Wednesday night on Food Network’s new show “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night\,” where celebrities compete\, laugh\, dance\, and congregate around culinary-themed party games. And it’s all for the charities of their choice!! But who’s this band that’s the life of the party? Who is Sophistafunk? \n“The unstoppable Funk Hip Hop dance party” \nFrom underground shows to international festivals\, Sophistafunk has been described as “Rage Against the Machine meets The Roots\, dipped in P-Funk.” They’ve also become widely known on the touring circuit as a rare Hip Hop meets live electronic jam band\, performing multiple sets at Electric Forest and Camp Bisco (USA)\, as well as BoomTown and Shambala (UK)\, to name a few. They’re well known from New York to New Orleans\, and have particularly strong followings in California\, Colorado\, Michigan\, New England\, and the Great Northwest\, among others. \nAfter celebrity chef Guy Fieri became a fan of the band\, he invited Sophistafunk to perform at many of his events and private parties around the country\, including at the Super Bowl in Tempe\, AZ. The band even appeared twice on his TV show “Diners\, Drive-ins\, & Dives.” They were also featured as the house band for four episodes of “Guy’s Grocery Games” and in 2020 premiered a music video on Food Network’s “Triple D: Takeout Edition.” Sophistafunk’s multi-year relationship with Fieri culminated in the invite of a lifetime: to be regular cast members on his brand new game show!! Add a little funk\, and “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night” was born! The rest is history. \nThe band is rooted in undeniable musicianship and authenticity\, blending intoxicating beats with mind-expanding flows. Mad scientist Adam Gold is known for his heavy synth basslines and funky vocals. He plays four vintage keyboards at the same time\, sometimes even while beatboxing! Gospel trained drummer and singer Emanuel Washington combines neo-soul with deep house\, reggae\, and more. Frontman / emcee Jack Brown evokes comparisons from Mac Miller to Michael Frantí\, but his lyrical skill and conscious vibes are truly one of a kind. The band also features musical guests\, ranging from brass instruments to guitars\, turntablists\, female singers\, & other surprises. Lately\, they’ve been touring with sax powerhouse Tommy Weeks of the Funky Dawgz Brass Band. \nSophistafunk is for music lovers. Through the years\, they’ve become one of the most exhilarating and fulfilling live music experiences around. They blend genres as a broader analogy for people coming together\, leaving audiences with an undeniable afterglow of funky positivity. For years\, Sophistafunk has been pioneers on the live music circuit\, unafraid to push boundaries with their sounds and their messages. And now the whole world is finding out. Catch a show\, and join the party! \nSophistafunk – Syracuse\, NY \nFunk / Hip-Hop \nhttp://www.sophistafunkband.com/ \n### \nWelcome To KyLand aka “The Ky McClinton band” is 6 piece band formed out of Upstate NY. The band plays a bit of everything. From soul\, blues to country and maybe a little soft Rock. Aiming to be an original band we make sure to throw some of ours into the mix of the covers that we do. We been playing out for a few years now and can’t wait to continue our journey!

SUMMARY:Rainbow Kitten Surprise
DESCRIPTION:As if channeling another dimension where genres simply don’t exist\, Rainbow Kitten Surprise finds harmony in unpredictability – weaving together lyrical poetry\, hummable melodies\, and a rush of instrumental eccentricities. Now boasting over 2 billion global streams across platforms\, the band first began building their devoted fanbase with independent albums SEVEN + MARY (2013) and RKS (2015). \nOn September 26\, the band released their most collaborative and quintessentially Rainbow Kitten Surprise album yet\, bones. Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant\, Orville Peck\, Lainey Wilson)\, the record is both an incredible return to form and a distinct elevation from their previous releases\, earning praise from The Los Angeles Times\, PAPER\, Billboard\, and more. \nThis came on the heels of Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s first album in six years\, LOVE HATE MUSIC BOX\, released in May 2024. Produced by Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves) along with Konrad Snyder (Noah Kahan) and lead singer Ela Melo\, the record was met with critical acclaim from Billboard\, Consequence\, Paste\, and more. \nLOVE HATE MUSIC BOX followed the band’s breakout full-length debut for Elektra\, HOW TO: FRIEND\, LOVE\, FREEFALL\, which arrived in April 2018. Also produced by Jay Joyce\, the album featured the RIAA-certified Platinum single “It’s Called: Freefall\,” earned widespread praise from Billboard\, TIME\, Vice\, and NPR\, and saw the band make several national television appearances\, including performances on CBS Saturday Morning\, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert\, and PBS’s Austin City Limits. \nThe band is currently on the road for their Thanks For Coming Tour\, which sees them headline amphitheatres across North America\, including their fourth sold-out show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This comes after last year’s LOVEHATEMUSICBOX Tour\, which marked their largest tour to date and included multiple arena headline dates\, a stop at Radio City Music Hall in New York\, and two nights at the iconic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. \nIn 2026\, the band will kick off the bones Tour\, which includes amphitheatre and arena dates across Australia\, North America\, and the United Kingdom. \nRainbow Kitten Surprise is Ela Melo (she/her; lead vocals)\, Darrick “Bozzy” Keller (he/him; guitar\, vocals)\, Ethan Goodpaster (he/him; lead guitar\, vocals)\, and Jess Haney (he/him; drums)

SUMMARY:Worry Club - I'm Freaking Out Tour (w/ Wakelee & Bugsy)
DESCRIPTION:Worry Club – I’m Freaking Out Tour (w/ Wakelee & Bugsy) \nWorry Club is the Chicago-based project of singer/songwriter Chase Walsh\, whose diaristic songwriting and unfiltered emotional candor have earned the band a devoted\, rapidly growing fan base since forming in 2020. Blending raw bedroom-pop vulnerability with sharp-edged alt-rock\, Worry Club crafts songs that feel like late-night confessions — honest\, self-effacing\, darkly funny\, and painfully self-aware. Over a steady run of singles and EPs\, the band has amassed more than 20 million streams\, connecting deeply with listeners through music that navigates anxiety\, identity\, mental health\, and the absurdity of simply trying to stay afloat. \nTheir debut full-length\, I’m Freaking Out\, expands Worry Club’s world into a bigger\, louder\, and more emotionally volatile universe. Across its twelve tracks\, Walsh writes with a cinematic sense of chaos — stories of drinking problems you’re not ready to admit (DRNKNG PRBLM)\, feeling too young and reckless to know better (Too Dumb To Die)\, spiraling inside your own house or someone else’s (I’m (Freaking Out))\, and the surreal humor of imagining your own disappearance (I’m Ded!). The album moves between detached disassociation (Anything Else)\, aching intimacy (Fade Away\, Gentle)\, existential exhaustion (Come And Get It)\, and the fragile hope that love — romantic or platonic — might be enough to keep you steady (My Girl). \nAcross the album\, Walsh treats catastrophe and comedy as siblings\, often singing about emotional collapse through a lens of self-deprecating wit and vivid\, almost cartoonish imagery — giving your knees to someone else who can dance\, selling your favorite guitar because it’s “covered in blood\,” or arguing with major corporations who want their money “when I die.” It’s a record obsessed with the push-pull between wanting to disappear and wanting to be held\, between spiraling alone and desperately trying to stay connected\, between the hell inside your head and the strange comfort of the people who stick around anyway. \nWith I’m Freaking Out\, Worry Club sharpens their identity into something unmistakable: music that confronts the mess head-on — bruised\, honest\, funny\, and tender — and finds catharsis in naming the things we’re scared to say out loud. It’s an album about falling apart\, piecing yourself back together\, and realizing that even in the worst moments\, you’re not alone.
