SUMMARY:Tsui Hark and Ching Siu-tung’s Swordsman II (1992)
DESCRIPTION:The charismatic Jet Li\, and the absolutely legendary Brigitte Lin star in this astonishing film by director Ching Siu-tung (“A Chinese Ghost Story”) and producer Tsui Hark. While that should be all one needs to say\, let us continue. Brigitte Lin is incredible as Invincible Asia\, a villain so determined to rule the world that – in accordance with instructions found in a sacred text – he castrates himself to slowly transform from man to woman\, a process that will lead to they’re obtaining the ultimate supernatural power. Meanwhile\, Jet Li\, having had enough of the chaotic martial world\, hopes to retire in seclusion. Meeting and attracting the interest of Invincible Asia\, however\, changes everything. \nRated R. Cantonese w/English Subtitles. 108 minutes. \nFeaturing a secret surprise second feature!

SUMMARY:Eastbound Jesus - Album Release Party (w/ Forest Station)
DESCRIPTION:Returning to Putnam Place\, Eastbound Jesus releases their new album “Hard To Get To Heaven” on May 9\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\nSaturday May 9\, Upstate New York’s own Eastbound Jesus returns to the Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs to celebrate a new full-length album\, Hard To Get To Heaven\, recorded in the band’s barn practice space as the winter of 2025 settled over rural Washington County. Produced by the band alongside collaborator Jimi Woodul\, the album captures the raw chemistry that has defined Eastbound Jesus’s sound for years\, carrying the group into a second decade of making music together. The sessions embrace the grit and energy of the band’s Northern Rock style. The resulting record continues the band’s blend of Americana storytelling\, bluegrass instrumentation\, and road-tested rock and roll. By recording in their regular weekly practice space\, the band was able to slow down and experiment\, creating performances that feel both intimate and expansive. Hard To Get To Heaven showcases Eastbound Jesus’s signature high-energy roots sound while exploring deep and reflective songwriting—marking some of the band’s most thoughtful work to date.

SUMMARY:Sicard Hollow
DESCRIPTION:Come party with SICARD HOLLOW \n\n\n\n\nNashville’s psychedelic punk-grass rockers\, Sicard Hollow\, grew up sick of any existing institution telling them who and what to be. Now\, as they navigate adulthood\, they’re equally tired of the music institutions telling them what their music should sound like—so they dunked it in patchouli and a skate-and-destroy ethos that brings an enduring sound into the modern age.

SUMMARY:John Gorka
DESCRIPTION:Folk icon John Gorka shares songs of depth\, humor\, and heart delivered in his unmistakable baritone at Caffè Lena. \n\n\n\n\n“…the leading singer/songwriter of the New Folk movement.” — Rolling Stone \nFew voices in contemporary folk are as instantly recognizable as John Gorka’s. With a rich baritone that carries both gravity and warmth\, Gorka has spent more than four decades writing songs that are thoughtful\, wry\, deeply human\, and beautifully crafted. \nHe first found his footing in the late 1970s at the legendary Pennsylvania coffeehouse Godfrey Daniels\, where he lived in the basement\, ran sound\, and absorbed the influence of visiting folk greats. From there\, he stepped into the famed Fast Folk circle in New York City\, won the Kerrville New Folk Award in 1984\, and soon emerged as one of the defining songwriters of his generation. \nSince the release of his debut album I Know in 1987\, Gorka has built a remarkable catalog of critically acclaimed recordings. His songs blend intelligence\, tenderness\, and quiet wit\, and have been recorded and performed by artists including Mary Chapin Carpenter\, Nanci Griffith\, and Mary Black. Over the years\, he has appeared on Austin City Limits\, Mountain Stage\, and stages across North America and Europe\, earning a devoted international following. \nJohn’s music moves fluidly between the intimate and the expansive. His lyrics linger. His melodies unfold gently but with purpose. And live\, in a listening room like Caffè Lena\, every nuance has space to breathe. \nSAMPLE SONG \nJoin us for an evening with one of folk music’s most enduring and beloved voices — a songwriter whose work continues to resonate with depth\, honesty\, and heart. \nStream this show live at Caffè Lena TV. Livestream available for $5 – 100% of live stream tickets on CaffeLenaTV benefit the artists. Subscribe for unlimited live streaming\, two week access to recent shows\, and Caffe Lena’s video archive. \nNote: Caffe Lena does not permit ticket reselling above face value. SUMMARY:Abigail Lapell
DESCRIPTION:JUNO-nominated Abigail Lapell brings luminous\, intimate folk to Caffè Lena—poetic songs shaped by haunting acoustics. \n\n\n\n\n“Abigail writes songs that stop you right in your tracks.” \n— Brooklyn Vegan \nAward-winning Toronto songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Abigail Lapell brings her spellbinding new music to Caffè Lena — a voice both timeless and unmistakably her own. \nLapell returns with More Songs About Love\, the extended companion to her JUNO-nominated album Anniversary. Produced with Tony Dekker of Great Lake Swimmers and recorded inside a 200-year-old church in Niagara-on-the-Lake\, the album carries a haunting resonance — every note shaped by natural acoustics that feel almost otherworldly. The result is a collection of love songs that shimmer with intimacy\, balancing luminous ballads\, intricate fingerstyle guitar\, and raw poetic storytelling. \nA three-time Canadian Folk Music Award winner with more than 60 million streams\, Lapell has steadily earned recognition as a thoughtful and distinctive voice in contemporary folk. Her songs explore longing\, devotion\, memory\, and the passage of time with breathtaking honesty — transforming familiar themes into something mysterious\, cinematic\, and deeply felt. \nCritics have called her work “understated yet seductive” (No Depression) and “the new generation’s heart-rending answer to Tapestry’s call” (Exclaim!). Whether performing at SXSW\, Americanafest\, or major folk festivals across North America and Europe\, Lapell captivates audiences with a stage presence that is both powerful and disarmingly intimate. \nAt Caffè Lena — where listening is an art — her music will have the space it deserves. \nSAMPLE SONG \nJoin us for an unforgettable evening of haunting melodies\, emotional depth\, beautifully crafted songwriting and the kind of performance that invites deep listening. \nThis is folk music at its most transportive — and an artist you’ll be grateful to discover.
